England Vision Strategy Priorities

In England, over 1.5 million people are living with sight loss, yet public health messages rarely discuss eye health. More needs to be done to promote the importance of maintaining good eye health.

Health and social care are under immense pressure facing capacity issues and financial pressures and are often disjointed. Improvements in service design and commissioning should be supported to provide the best care and support.

Those who are blind or partially sighted frequently face barriers to work, education, travel, leisure and the built environment. These and other issues impact significantly on their overall health, wellbeing and independent living.

To address these problems, the leading organisations in England are working together to deliver a plan for change called the England Vision Strategy. To read more about this click here.
